Weekly Manga Update: Second Week of June

It feels like June just rolled in without any warning! The weather just went from pleasant to …well…not as pleasant (unless you’re a fan of the whole hot weather thing).

The second week of June also brings us more manga! So here’s a look at some of the offerings that this week brought. You’re wallet and bank accounts will thank us later. ?


1. After Hours Vol. 1 by Yuhta Nishio

The first entry we have is a new series, which is always exciting, especially for those who have been looking for a manga series to get into. This one in particular has an interesting premise to it!

After Hours Volume 1 Description:

“There’s always something going on at night. Sooner or later, you’ll find your scene. Emi Ashiana is 24, unemployed, and not really sure what she wants do with her life. When a friend invites her to a dance club, Emi doesn’t expect much. But what she finds will change her world! 2. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Vol. 24 by Shinobu Ohtaka

Oh Magi, you continue to be one of the most entertaining manga and anime series in current Japanese pop culture! The complex and oh so entertaining series continues with the release of the 24th entry!

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Volume 24 Description:

3. Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter Vol. 8 by Keiichi Hikami (story) and Shin Yamamoto (art)

Things are getting pretty damn interesting in the manga adaptation of the popular monster hunting video game franchise. The eighth volume is just as interesting and continues the monster slaying madness at full throttle!

Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter Volume 8 Description:

“In the world of the hit game from Capcom, novice hunters team up to fight huge monsters! It is an age when monsters rule the world, soaring through the sky, treading the earth and filling the seas. 4. Tales of Zestiria Vol. 1 by Shiramine (story & art) and BANDAI NAMCO (original concept)

First the video game, then the anime, and NOW the manga! Fans of the two previous iterations of the Zestiria story are undoubtedly going to find some excitement in consuming this manga. It debuted this week and is totally ready to take you back in Sorey’s world. (And of course Mikleo will be there.)

5. Mysterious Girlfriend X Vol. 6 by Riichi Ueshiba

Both the weather and the stories revolving around the character of Mysterious Girlfriend X are warming up, which makes this release so relatable given how it’s June and all! If you’re a fan of the “he said, she said” stuff then this manga is totally up your alley.

Mysterious Girlfriend X Volume 6 Description:
