Kpop Fix

Review: Lonely by Sistar

Earlier last month we all heard the sad news that Kpop group Sistar is disbanding.

It is always a bittersweet moment when a Kpop act leaves because you’re excited for all the memories they’ve given you but sad that now ends.

Lonely is simple yet effective in its delivery and will undoubtedly leave a mark on fans and listeners.

The song itself has a nice beat and smooths its way into background in the atmosphere. You can tell they put their all into this finale as there is a great marriage between the strong vocals and the smooth rap verses.

They help to package a very personal and touching gift to the fans. The song itself is more in the ballad realm of things; however its lyrics and beat tend to keep the song from being depressing.

The music video is quite simple. The girls are having the time of their lives in what we can assume to be their last moments together as a group.

There is only celebration and fun as the pending sadness is pushed away for later. It feels like we as fans are also hanging out with them, which makes the MV feel too personal.

The ending does come by the end of the MV as the director yells “cut” and they embrace. It hurts to watch and will undoubtedly make fans cry.

Watch their farewell below!
