KPop Fix: Ailee – Reminiscing
Ailee makes her comeback with this jazzy addition to her growing discography. The ballad is very characteristic of Ailee’s works and gives her voice the full attention that it deserves. The song is about a woman who is recalling her memories of a relationship. It’s emotional but also calm.
The calmness is alluring but she amps it up during the chorus, which will catch you off guard. It adds an element of emotional resonance within the video. The jazz beat gives it a nice toe-tapping, head nodding feel to it.
In recent news, she had an interview on February 27 with the broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time.” She talked about her recent dating experience.
Ailee told them:
“I’ve stayed good friends with someone I broke up with before. I don’t think we really loved each other. After breaking up, I didn’t mind at all and saw him as a friend.”
The last time we had a hit from Ailee was her OST for “Goblin” “I Will Go to You Like the First Snow.” It was a big hit, climbing to No. 1 on music charts immediately after release. “Reminisce” is a safe zone for Ailee, but it you’re a fan you expected her to tread on familiar ground.
